Meena Drew's parents were killed when she was a young child, so her grandfather raised her. He was very protective of Meena, she was not allowed to leave the grounds of his estate and her only companion was her Cerulean protector, Cadyn Clearwater.

Cadyn was half human half Cerulean. When he was orphaned at birth the Ceruleans sent him to Eden to live with his mother?s people, humans. He lived in back alleys and made money running errands for shady people, until Meena?s grandfather found him, at the age of nine. That is when he became the five-year-old Meenas protector.

As they grew older Cadyn realized he loved Meena, but he did not feel worthy of her love, so he left her to prove himself. Cadyn returns five years later, to find someone trying to kill his Meena. He still loved her and he knew that she felt the same. But it will take all his military training, and their love for them to survive.

This is a really good story. I usually do not like stories written in the first person, but this one really works, I cannot imagine it any other way. The writer has done an excellent job pulling the reader in, and making us want more. Meena and Cadyn are wonderful, strong characters. Cadyn is the perfect hero, strong, loving, stubborn and gorgeous. Meena is just as strong a character in a different way; she is sweet and innocent and is his strength. This was a great love story with lots of steamy sex. I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out.
